Yes defenses would be forced to play better if Tanner's passing is substantially better than Taysom's passing. But it's also true that our WRs are having trouble getting open against 8-9 man boxes. How will they do if defenses are "forced" into playing more coverage? They are suddenly going to get more open with fewer men in the box?

I tend to think people are overestimating the difference in passing ability between Tanner and Taysom. As has been well documented in other posts, Tanner didn't light up the world against the best teams on our schedule last year so I'm not sure why people expect that he would have a substantially better performance than what Taysom has had against the best defenses we've faced this year.

Go ahead and lecture all you want, but apparently the coaches have come to the same conclusion as me. I suppose you think they don't understand all those intricate football interactions either.
