Everyone of the SEC, ACC, PAC-12, and BIG-10 can also have a rematch in the CCG. It has already happened several times in the PAC-12.
Thus, each of these conferences can experience all of the drawbacks you mention. Even if the BIG-12 had expanded to 12 and formed 2 divisions, they could still quite often experience all of these issues.
But I agree that the conference championship game after a true round-robin schedule is idiotic.
