I think you are relying on an old Mormon stereotype for this observation
I've traveled to many away games, and I see many Cougar fans traveling, staying at nice hotels, renting cars, eating at nice places, etc.
Sure, they may not drop $50k at the tables in Vegas, but they will drop some coin on other things there.
