He knows the game as well as any player, has as good a shot as anyone in the rotation, is a fabulous teammate,
works hard, but may still be addicted to cheese burgers.
His lagging physical conditioning has been a bit disappointing. We recognize that different bodies recondition at different rates, but Payton has been home for 6 months. Maybe that's a price we pay for the rest of the positive package.
But this would be a different team with Payton in top condition. Aside from providing another competent and versatile force in the low post, Dastrup may also be the man most likely to lead from the arc.
Wouldn't trade that man but .....come on Bro, we need you.
