He's young. He likes attention....and it's nice to get caught "doing something good." I wonder how many times he's gotten a letter like this...maybe this is the first time? It has to feel good...and he's growing up in a "look at me" world where the norm isn't to talk about integrity and kindness. I don't think that he thinks that he's perfect, but I don't have a problem with him feeling good about doing something good.
I wish that we saw more of this from athletes/people in the public eye.
IIRC, he really wasn't THAT bad during the game. Sure, he was talking smack and getting chippy...but that's hardly abnormal...especially in the SEC West. I wish it wasn't the case, but knowing this helps keep things in perspective (especially since he's a very talented youngster on a bad team).
The real reason that this is awesome is because the BYU fan took the time to write the letter. Kudos to that BYU fan (who must not be a CBer).
