1. "Studies don't answer the question." He is correct that no randomized study has been done to refute the claim (initially argued by an admitted fraud) that vaccines cause autism. It is his job to provide evidence to support such a claim, otherwise we do a randomized study to prove that parachutes save lives (you want to agree to that study?) The studies actually suggest: There is no proof of a link between autism and vaccines. That is the truth. for now.

2. "disproven over and over and over" Wakefield initially suggested thimerasol as the link. Thus the studies to disprove the link between thimerasol and autism.

3. Whistleblower: per the article referenced in the OP the whistleblower retained copies of all the "destroyed" data. Yet he has yet to produce that data to support his claim. My response: Show me the data! If you have it, show it to me. Or did the dog eat it. I just want to see the proof. Any one man can claim anything he likes and use his position of power to support his claims without producing any proof. Happens all the time. Take away his "CDC insider" status and no one believes him.

4. Conspiracy theorists unite. He puts together a fairly well worded argument based on cherry-picking information and asks you to believe him on the rest. I'm not willing to do so. Especially when he suggests that 1000's of researchers are all out to perpetuate a fraud at the expense of millions of kiddos, or just in it for the money from Pharma...which ain't that good. Trust me, they've offered.

Hope this helps explain where I'm coming from. I'm willing to learn new things and look at things another way and didn't mind the excursion into his point of view. It was enlightening and educational. There is a difference between: It's proven to have no connection, and: There is no proven connection. Gotta be careful. Which I will do.
