You guys did make a REAL effort originally. Who wouldn't. Any 4 or 5 star recruit in state is going to get real attention from everyone. But if he completely shuts you down right off the bat, you aren't going to pursue him any more. You know that there is no chance and it doesn't seem like you lost the battle when he goes somewhere else because you have known he was going somewhere else for a long time and have stopped pursuing him months ago.

This is what you are saying right? It was a good get for BYU... but because Utah stopped trying to get him a long time ago, it isn't a big last minute win?
