There's still a lot that's out of his control to where having that extra year could be helpful in affecting his draft stock, in the event he ends up needing it. (see: Taysom injuries). Not saying it was dumb to not redshirt. Also not saying he won't be good enough to make the leap. But just because he has a plan in his mind as to when he wants to leave for the NFL, that doesn't mean it will happen that way. Heaps had a similar plan and things didn't work out the way he planned. For Tanner's sake, I hope he doesn't end up in a situation where he wishes he had that final year of eligibility.
