^^^Not sure "nothing" is more unthinkable, but I for one didn't believe.
Last night was pretty special. No one rational gave us a shot. I was resigned to a blow out. I thought if anything they'd be ready for us after losing to us at home twice before and us pulling close in the Marriott Center. And they were ready--they shot out of the gate. But obviously we came back. I think going into a #1 'bama in football, No. 1 Duke or Kentucky in basketball and coming out with a win is just as "unthinkable" as last night. In other words, I'm not downplaying what happened last night just because it's Gonzaga (and not one of the other basketball powerhouses), or because it was in-conference. It was previously-undefeated Gonzaga, thank you very much. The no. 1 teams in all sports suffer setbacks. Going through entire seasons undefeated is very, very rare. 'Bama had a chance last year and it didn't happen. All the former #1s also lost this year. So yes, it was very, very special to beat the 'Zags, and we deserved it. And I'd argue it sent just as big a shock through the sports world as defeating a no. 1 ranked football team would (in the regular season anyway).
