Thrill All-American
We disregarded advice, rented a car and drove
the Amalfi Coast in one day. It was a fun day and crazy drive that we heard could take a lot longer during a busier time of year. I definitely liked having a car and it allowed us to stop at random places that a bus or train would just cruise by.

If you decide on Amalfi, you could do a day or two on the island of Capri as well.

Amalfi would definitely require a car or bus to see everything, while Cinque Terre can be done via hikes. Just depends on what you prefer--can't go wrong either way.
