Both are wins.
I'd prefer Cinque Terre because you have Pisa, Carrara, Genoa, and even Siena/Florence within reasonable visits.
Amalfi is beautiful but Campagna is the total armpit of modern day civilization. You could easily check out Capri, Naples, PoZzuoli, Pompeii, and Paestum...but I prefer N. Italy for reason that'll be obvious if you go to Amalfi.
