I flew into Basel because I wanted to go to Europa park (Europe's best theme park - in Germany near France and Switzerland). I also spent time in Zurich and Liechtenstein. The drive along Lake Zurich is breathtaking. There wasn't a lot to do in Liechtenstein, but the drive made it worthwhile.

While I was in Zurich, along the Limmat river, which is in the center of town, there was a line of people waiting to jump in the river with some sort of large rubber duck floatable and swim the river. Apparently this happens only once a year. I talked to some people who were in line. The river looked very clean for being in the center of the city.

Old town Basel is also worth a visit.

On our trip to Italy in October, we drove from Lake Como to Lake to Lake Lugano in Switzerland.

I haven't been to Geneva or Lucerne yet - still on my list.
