95% of his recruiting is LDS athletes. That's the way it is and likely the way it will be in the future. BYU can't have traditional recruiting circles because those athletes simply won't come to BYU or make it here if they did. We're lucky to get the occasional non-LDS athlete and even luckier when they pan out and actually stay at BYU.

When the LDS recruiting has a soft year or he whiffs on a star LDS athlete, he really doesn't have much to fall back on. With BYU recruiting in basketball its very all or nothing.
