If you don't have your wisdom tooth behind #15, a bridge isn't an option.
Some people don't even miss that tooth after it's been extracted. I would recommend having it extracted then see if you miss it. If you miss it, then proceed with an implant. If you don't miss the tooth and don't feel like your chewing abilities are compromised, then no worries. Go without the implant.

Maybe it's #14...either way, there is a tooth behind it, which is why the dentist mentioned the bridge as an alternative
