BYU fills an important niche. Late night Friday and saturday night games with a built in audience
And a program that sells itself with very little marketing expense. BYU also picks up the production tab in some ways. And as an added bonus you get all of that with a team that competes at a P5 level, provides 2-3 big home games a year, and is incredibly willing to play neutral site money games. They are also willing to take less money than the P5 schools.

ESPN can't find that package anywhere else. BYU is a good, low hassle partner for them. They pay us a quarter of what they pay Iowa state and we provide a greater return.
