Everyone here agrees that football is not the most important thing in the world. We all agree that winning games at the expense of being an honorable person is not a good trade-off. This is not controversial, and there’s nothing wrong with saying so. If asked, probably any coach would tell you the same thing.
Bronco’s case was different. Bronco cynically used this widely-accepted philosophy as a way to absolve himself of criticism. Calling fans Pharisees for daring to question and criticize his coaching was beyond ridiculous. I mean, that’s offensive stuff.
If Kalani starts saying we can’t criticize his performance because there are more important things in life than football, we have a problem. Until then, no problem.
