Good question. I guess I shouldn't type when I am thinking out loud?
Wow. There I go again. Making a statement with a question mark.

Free agent signings cost time and money. Their ability to evaluate talent is limited probably more by time than by money...but time is money...The NFL is a business. I would expect that they would have a lot of discussions with college coaches to get the biggest bang from the buck they are investing in all of this. Time and money. Why bring a kid into camp if he was an idiot, or a head case, or whatever. Why wouldn't you bring someone in that carries strong references rather than someone you don't? Waste of time and money. That is what I think.

The question is - I have heard many times how Ty is a genius and was in the NFL for so long as a result of that genius. Does any of that translate into talent evaluation and does his opinion carry weight where it generates interest (and opportunities for our guys?). Or perhaps a BYU player is getting interest from several teams and Ty evaluates the teams and tells the kid where he thinks he would have the best opportunity as a free agent, since everyone knows it is a steep hill to get over and actually stick with a team as a free agent...

What do you think?
