The whole idea of his offense is for the QB and receivers to read the defense
and throw to where the "read" says the defender won't be. So, signaling to whom the ball is to be thrown would seem counterproductive. Admittedly, on the occasional play they might say "throw it to (fill in the blank), but that would not be the standard.
