Background:

We just got married a year ago, and we're a little older when we did (both over 30) so I'm Curious to what is 'normal' in terms of time people spend with in-laws. Early spring she had most of her family visit us since we bought our house, over 3 different weekends. Now that it's summer, she wants to Take 3 different trips, all either a plane ride or roughly a full days drive to visit them again. Then likely come Christmas it will be another trip.

The question is, for those that live away from family, how often do you travel to visit in laws?

I get it's her family and all, but I'm having a hard time having to use my vacation time and spend all this money to go travel To what will amount to at least 7 full weekends plus travel time of being with her family this year. It's feeling like too much.
