How everything I'm hearing, from recruiting, to coaches being better prepared, to the players knowing the system and getting bigger faster stronger. It's getting me very excited.
However, I just have this little voice in the back of my head that is doing its best to reign in my hopes and expectations, trying to protect me from falling too hard if/when we realize we're not going to win a national title this year, lol.
It's hard to while at the same time expecting our team to be better, and not expecting to go through those games on our schedule and be undefeated, considering how close we were last year in all those losses. It made for exciting football, but I'm worried about the collective hopes and dreams of CB and myself getting shattered when there is a realistic chance the ball bounces in a way where we are 2-3 again.
I know how excited I am, and regardless of what happens, the future of cougar football looks bright, but with all the talk about the schedule last year, with the strength of the current teams, compared to a lot of names we played last year, this years SOS is going to be MUCH more difficult.
But, my blue goggles will no doubt be firmly in place post Portland State, and looking forward to a wild ride!
GO COUGS!
