You're assuming he might be greedier than he really is. Who says he's motivated by the possibility of going higher later on? What if he just wants to get into the pros in a good position while he's as young as he can be? There's no guarantee he'll be a lot higher the next year. You seem so sure even with a very very good year, but that's exactly what would make NFL teams say declare now, we want you. You really underestimate this offense and the preparation for the pros.
