If there were no concerns over sleepy drivers it would only make sense for
trucks to cruise at optimal fuel consumption speeds (probably around 50 mph) around the clock. It would also only make sense at some point for trucks to draft behind one another. It would become a nightmare for regular highways/freeways.

I just don't see how this wouldn't eventually become the standard for freight and hence the need for dedicated lanes.
