Perhaps because Millennials were taught all throughout their life that being a
cog is for losers?

Being in the Millenial group I see a lot of what people complain about, but I don't trace it to some inherent inability to be functional adults. Rather, it goes all the way back to our most formative years where we were taught that we were all, in our own special way, gods gift to the world. I cannot blame the millennial for being taught this, particularly those that are in their early 20s and late teens. They should, however, learn rather quickly that they aren't gods gift, that being a cog in the machine is not for losers, and that life can be filled with meaning outside of employment by cultivating lasting IRL relationships and cultivating productive hobbies.

Myself, I learned that at 22, in no small part because I was raised to know that not everyone is special or amazing but that life is still fulfilling even if you aren't the next MJ. The rest of my generation needs to learn that as well. The older generations need to realize that they helped to create this monster and help fix the problem rather than incessantly complain as though this problem just popped up out of nowhere.
