i am smarter for sure. i didn't use the word "subsidy" i used the word
"subsidized" which, to help you out, means (according to merriam-webster):
"to aid or promote (someone or something, such as a private enterprise) with public money" (https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/subsidize)
hmmm...let's see...the "private enterprise" here is the exclusive golf course and it is being "aided" and "promoted" by "public money".

PS RE being "cavalier about private property rights"...whose property are we talking about...the golf course or the millions of dollars of tax payer money? i'm ALL for private property rights. i'm NOT all for public funding of those private property rights. not a hard concept.
