Auburn and Georgia are among the top in the SEC in returning starters. And Auburn got a QB from Baylor.

Miss St lost a TON of production on defense and went the JC route to help fill some holes quickly. We'll see if that pays off. The state of MS has legit JC talent... These guys aren't at a JC because of a lack of talent. But we'll see how the defense does this season.

Fitzgerald is basically their Taysom. He's not a great passer and some reports have said he's not really getting a grasp on the offense with an extra year, in the type of way a QB should to really progress a lot. Something that made Dak Prescott great... Who was another type of Hill but was a very good passer. He made a huge jump in the understanding of the offense and it doesn't sound like Fitzgerald is making that jump.

They lost some offensive production and will obviously have a guy step into the new #1 role at WR, but their #2 is now out for the season. They might be shallow there.

Who is Miss St going to surprise? Nobody is expecting them to be bad. Just not really good.
