When I was married my wife managed the accounts entirely
A few times I asked to be involved and she shut me down. I'm leaving out a lot of details but she spoke to me about how much she kept us in good credit during all those years while in school and that she was very familiar with the finances and that I wouldn't really have the time and would most likely miss a payment etc etc etc. In fact she would get upset about it. The one thing I could never understand is why it seemed or at least why I felt broke all the time.

Anyway (tons of details left out here)...when I realized something was wrong with my marriage I "hacked" into the accounts. What a stinking nightmare. I couldn't believe how much was being spent on every thing she was doing. Debt high, money gone, credit cards I didn't know about....

Anyway, I would still trust the person I was married to but I don't think i'd ever check out completely like I did before. It's always best to have an eye on it imo.
