No, because people will still choose to play to support themselves. Many
occupations will lead to damage. Coal miners come to mind as an example and yet people still go down in the mines knowing it will cause them damage. And they make a lot less then NFL players.
The area of concern for the sport is if parents stop letting their kids play and the talent pool disappears.
