Corbin was a good role player. Role players provide value to a good team ...
...beyond their indvidual abilities. He wasn't a good offensve player but he was a good rim protector, ate up space in the paint, and was a strong rebounder. He moved his feet really well on defense and was surprisingly good by the end of his freshman year. He was especially impressive defending Brad Waldork in our 22 pt beatdown of them in Feb '15. The value of good role players on teams are too often overlooked by the average fan because what they contribute isn't flashy or doesn't show up on a stat sheet
.
The trouble he had last year was learning to play with all the extra bulk he added for football . It wasn't a natural fit for him on the bball court and it hampered his natural game. He has a higher ceiling as a football player but for the current evolution of bball his game is a good fit at the 5 (poor mans Andrew Bogut) .
