Water softener install was a breeze, very easy. The hardest part was desoldering the pipes. Went with the Fleck and the shark bite hoses. Took less than an hour and with everything was probably less than $800. And now we own 2 propane torches! Must be time to make creme brûlée

The plumber told us $1700-$1800 so we saved about $1000. Totally worth it. They have a step by step install video that made install a breeze. And with the shark bite hoses, there was no need to solder.
