So take the best out of Utah. Emery, seljaas, haws, Mika, childs......
Then go scour the world for more talent that fits in with your other players. Get athletic defenders, versatility, etc.
The problem isn't that we get good players out if utah/Idaho. (we do) the problem is we round out our recruiting classes with below average players (often from utah/Idaho)
Heath Schroyer has already made a big impact on recruiting. We were extremely close to landing a big time Russian FIBA player who was committed to BYU who found out he was ineligible in July.
We scoured the JC ranks last year and brought in some athleticism and quickness...
Still, we need to do better and not take the easy way out and give offers to the lower level Utah kids (I'm not going to name names but I'm not referring to the haws/emery/childs/mika/seljaas types) those guys are really good.
