I have a cousin who's son is named Mahonri. Absolutely not a name I'd choose for
my kid, but I also wouldn't name my kid Blanche, Herbert, or Ralph.
I've never once ridiculed (or felt entitled to ridicule) the Blanches, Herberts and Ralphs I've met.
I'm not sure how you go from "yeah, I wouldn't name my kids that" to "you deserve to be ridiculed for naming your child how you choose."
