Do we really think playing for a AAC/MWC championship is going to all of sudden keep fans more engaged if they crap the bed in the beginning of the year against the P5 teams?

No... The landscape has changed since we left the MWC, where there is a much bigger line between the P5 to G5 schools... Being Indy, at least we are still considered quasi P5 from most these conferences and thus get lumped in P5 school talk.. Joining a G5 conference, we become G5 and are not differentiated at all... Honestly, the most we can ask at this point is to have a line of sight to a playoff if we are undefeated. I believe we are close to that now...

The only way I would say that G5 becomes appealing is if the Playoff moves to 8 teams and they guarantee the top G5 team a spot... I would go for that
