The game will survive because there are always athletes in the slums willing to risk it for a better life, and there are always people willing to pay to watch. I believe cannabis will help the image of the sport as well. It is showing very positive signs in CTE testing and could be a real answer.

On a side note, those test results are very decieving. The only players tested were already suspected of CTE. Thats like testing people with a runny nose for a cold. While it is an issue those results are very dishonest.
