Recruiting players and coaches is key, and plenty of G5's play better than both our teams have recently. In fact Gonzaga isn't really G5 (I know P5 / G5 doesn't apply in basketball), but still succeeds well at basketball. I also hasten to add that last year was actually a good year for football record-wise. It's this year things have really gone south in football, and the alarm is that we look so bad in losing. Things could still turn around. I'm not trying to diss anyone but I have to conclude the cause is coaching (and in part failing to recruit and discipline recruits). Hiring a new coach is a crapshoot, which is why I never wanted to fire Bronco. Obviously he left of his own accord but fire Rose and, like we may find out this year in football, we'd find the floor is a lot lower for our basketball team than we think it is.
