Football independence is a fairly proud path in my mind, blazed by Notre Dame, Penn State and Army before it. So that doesn't bug me. But I went to school back in the WAC / MWC days and never thought I'd say that playing basketball in the Pit in NM or at SDSU's arena would be fond memories. Ugh. But I also agree that it's an indictment of our program we haven't competed as well as we should have with Gonzaga and St. Mary's despite those small gyms.
