What it tells us is, if BYU would do it's part, WCC would be a 3 bid conference.
If BYU were a top 20 team, WCC would be ranked #7 in the nation this year, far ahead of the MWC.
If BYU were a top 20 team, the prestige of the WCC would quickly emerge as a serious national basketball conference, and would have been so last season.
With USF and possibly Santa Clara likely surging into the top 100 this season, BYU needs to fulfill its basketball promise. CBer WCC critics, look in the Cougar mirror if you want to see what is weak about the WCC.
