Thanks everybody, I'm not sure what to say, but thank you. It's been a terrific
ride for our whole family. Grant is certainly the one that's done the work and made the sacrifices, it's his story to tell but he's not the type that would tell it. Every one of these guys past and present has a story to tell, each one inspiring. The time, effort and energy they put in for the love of the game and our entertainment is more than many will ever understand. On top of all that football requires, navigating classes, social life, religious commitments and earning enough money to survive is quite an accomplishment.

I had the opportunity to be in the locker room with Grant after the injury and just before the half on Saturday. The expressions of love and concern I saw shown to him by his teammates, coaches, doctors and training staff at halftime is legit. These are real friends and fellow warriors, only they know the true cost of the football life. My thoughts went to so many of the players I've gotten to know over the past 7 years that didn't get their time in the sun that Grant has, those are the guys I feel even worse for, but I have no doubt that many would still opt to do it all over again just to represent BYU.
