I’ve never not been with kids at Christmas. The rule is no one wakes up until about 8am.
and the parents wrap presents ahead of time.
Sure the kids are up at 6am. But they know better not to wake up the house and don’t come out of their rooms and harass the adults until 7:45ish.
It’s not that hard if you establish expectations early on. That’s what we did growing up, that’s what we do now with the grandkids.
