Anyway, maybe the best parenting decision we made was designating one day a week for video games. On that day, he plays an hour in the morning and a couple after school, and then nothing the rest of the week. Now the younger kids have followed suit. They don't ask/talk about it until maybe the night before. And the ultimate added bonus, they still use the wii, because the don't know any better. It is a dinosaur, so I can get them a game or two a year for like $10.
