As was the situation with the forward pass in the early 80s and BYU, Oregon up tempo offense in the 00s. I think the downfield lateral is an opportunity. Allow every player to be a part of the offense. Recruit super athletic, smaller lineman (rugby playing Polynesian pipeline is an advantage). Build a playbook with downfield points of execution. I’d love to see BYU innovate in a way that gives them an advantage in a unique way.
