I'm not sure whether or not it's best for the team for him to be full time PG but I do think it would make him noticeably better. Especially with more pnr.
Problem is cannon/jahshire probably can't be as effective off-ball, either.
I think it's only a matter of time before he starts taking over more ball handling opportunities. He's not Tyler Haws--he is the type of player that needs the ball in his hands to generate rhythm and energy. Similar to Jimmer in that way.
He will still figure out how to be somewhat effective off-ball because he's a competitive kid---but you aren't going to see tj at his best standing on the wing plain and simple IMO.
