don't realize that the CC set up a special fund called the Coaches Circle so that BYU would be able to better pay its coaches and to remain competitive in that area. It's been a work in progress, but they have come pretty close to meeting the initial goals.
We don't know actual salaries being paid to the coaches, but we can and do know is that BYU is working to elevate historically low pay levels to more competitive levels.
The report on the progress of the Coaches Circle was given last spring, and the booster who was instrumental in getting this launched was singled out and praised (I have no recollection at all of his name).
Are we there yet? Honestly, I don't know, but my assumption is that we are not, but it's being worked on. I just don't like all the BYU-set-in-stone-low-pay bashing that goes on when I know they are actively working to remedy the situation.
