Reid was not going to be fired when he went to talk to Pres. Bateman that day.
Bateman wanted to talk about the team and what was happening. Reid got all defensive and as the conversation went on, Bateman didn't like what Reid was saying or how he was saying it. Bateman had a short fuse and instead of sending Reid away for both to cool off, Bateman fired him on the spot.

He had earned the right to try and fix it. Losing Bradley hurt us. Roger would have solved the problem.
