At such a crucial time in YFB, we’ve repeated the mistake far
too many times. Thinking someone being a good guy w love for BYU can compensate for lack of experience. Nothing compensates for lack of exp, ever. I think BYU has talent to be near top 25 6-7 yrs outta 10, but only if staff is top 25% of innovation, brains & strategy. That doesn’t mean big names, just best & brightest talent out of FCS & G5 up & coming coaching talent.

Execution & discipline combined such staff recruiting consistently former strengths: QB, TE, OL, DL& LBs is What’s required. Not 3-5* skill position recruiting. That, and fans not having 80s success based unrealistic expectations that immediately morphs into fetal position whining &antagonism towards players & coaches emboldened by anonymity. That’s a fan thing, but something more passive/aggressive about it here imo.

BYUs Admin & AD must not continue putting program in this position based on hail mary hope re hiring of woefully inexperienced & underpaid staff. There’s enough of a rut w the well known challenges our program faces without digging it deeper & wider by repeating the same mistake over & over.
