I've thought long and hard about this, and I agree with Jiminy Cricket. I did before he posted. I had thought about all this before reading the Cougarboard thread here.

Maybe we need to hire a 2nd offensive coordinator, one that we only use once we cross the 50-yard line. Or during the 4th quarter. And overtime. We'll let him know that in the above situations, punting on 4th down and ANY field goal attempts are absolutely unnacceptable. Plus, we'll do away with that nasty PAT and replace it with the good ol' Lavell 2-point conversion instead. Oh, and all onside kicks, all the time.

Our offense needs something. Let's call it "FIRE"! And it doesn't need more of it from QB John Beck near as much as they simply need to get some from the play-calls coming in from our sideline.
