I did not ignore that. I mentioned that the first two rounds are marginally more difficult as a 6 seed compared to a 5 seed.

The difference between playing a 1 or 2 seed can be huge, whereas the difference between playing a 3 or a 4 seed, or an 11 or a 12 seed, normally not so much.

If I believed my team had a punchers chance to make it to the round of 16 or beyond, I would rather face the marginally tougher initial round teams in order to avoid a 1 seed matchup in the round of 16.
