We are talking first world poor here. We’ll define poor as still having a job and income but only enough to cover basic expenses. You have a simple house that is not big enough as you’d want but livable and two old cars that run. You don’t have enough to really have any expensive hobbies or travel. Kids aren’t able to afford sports and camps. Assume you have the same wife and kids but they know nothing of your old life and this is all they’ve ever know.
