Not so. He’s the only one to have landed a quad axel in competition so far, but
other quad jumps have become commonplace in men’s skating. The quad axel is the only jump with a forward take-off, so it’s actually 4.5 rotations, unlike the quad lutz, flip, salchow, loop, and toe loop. If you watch his program, the quad axel is the very first jump. He also landed “just” a triple axel at the end of the program. Nathan Chen landed five quads when he won the Olympics two years ago. In fact, some women have even landed quad jumps.
