I'm in my mid 60's and I still remember that if you went to the hospital
most of all the costs were covered by your insurance and you never got separate billings. Today you have a procedure done and over the next 2-4 months you keep having different invoices submitted to you for payment. Before, the hospital would pay all individuals and then bill you one amount.

The same goes for emergency medical care. No one where I grew up were ever billed for ambulatory services if they were injured. We weren't charged school fees either or if you played on a school based sport team, besides your personal gear (mouth piece, jock, etc.) everything was covered. They talk about it being a simpler time. It really was in regards to all of this.

I mean, I understand some of the change, but my experience with change, outside of technology, is that it's usually an attempt to take something from you or decrease their service, for the same price and usually for more.
