Japan Coug Intervention Needed

So should we apply your logic to the NFL playoffs, NCAA tournament, NBA playoffs

CFP, Wimbledon, NHL playoffs, US Open, etc, because if we want to get the so-called "best matchup" on paper, we could just skip the whole tournament and handpick the two teams or players?

Or if not, then why is soccer different than those other sports/tournaments?
